First National Bank of Michigan Employees Give Back at AYA Youth Collective
February 7, 2025
At First National Bank of Michigan, we believe in the power of community and the importance of giving back. In December, a group of our employees from the Grand Rapids team had the opportunity to volunteer at the AYA Youth Collective, an organization dedicated to supporting underserved and homeless youth in the community.
The team took on a variety of tasks to help out. Some employees cleaned, while others filled snack bags and decorated lunch bags. A few of prepared meals—making sandwiches, while others tackled breaking down large containers of turkey and stuffing, preparing them for baking. Since the food was generously donated by a local hospital following Thanksgiving, there was an abundance of delicious food and pies to sort and distribute.
As the team wrapped up their volunteer efforts, everyone left feeling inspired by the incredible work being done at AYA Youth Collective. Many committed to returning on their own to continue supporting their mission.
AYA Youth Collective is more than just a shelter; it’s a one-stop-shop for youth in need. They offer essential services such as counseling, babysitting, showers, laundry facilities, and housing. They even have an on-site representative from MDHHS to assist young people with applications for food stamps and state assistance. Their comprehensive approach provides life-changing resources and opportunities for those who need them most.
We are proud to support such a vital organization and encourage others in the community to get involved. Small acts of service can make a big impact, and we look forward to continuing our partnership with AYA Youth Collective in the future!
