Grand Rapids Team Cleans Up Local Yards with Puertas Abiertas

In September, the Grand Rapids team from First National Bank of Michigan (FNBM) partnered with the Heart of West Michigan United Way to participate in the annual Week of Caring, a community-driven event focused on giving back. This year, FNBM employees worked with Puertas Abiertas, a local nonprofit, to provide yard cleanup services for two of its clients.

Volunteers from FNBM, including Clark Rowley, Emily Newman, Shaunna Padgett, Mike Hollander, Kirstyn Monroe, Charles Slauer, Dustin Hopkins, Linette Griteman, Nick Conley, Sally Forslund, Julie Banks, Harrison Brown, and Chris Williams rolled up their sleeves and spent the day making a difference in the community. Their work involved clearing debris, trimming overgrown shrubs, and improving the overall appearance of the properties, ensuring a clean and safe environment for the residents.

FNBM has a long-standing commitment to community engagement and support. The partnership with Puertas Abiertas and United Way during the Week of Caring is just one example of how the bank and its employees are dedicated to helping those in need.

The Week of Caring highlights how businesses and nonprofits can collaborate to create a positive impact. For FNBM, the event is part of their broader mission to give back to the Grand Rapids community and support local causes. Their work with Puertas Abiertas not only provided immediate help to those in need but also strengthened connections within the community.

Events like these emphasize the importance of volunteerism and the power of collective action to improve lives. FNBM looks forward to continuing its involvement in similar initiatives and making a lasting difference in the communities they serve.
