On a hot night in June, employees from the First National Bank of Michigan participated in a memorable evening at the Challenger Little League field. This special program ensures that children with disabilities can experience the joy of playing baseball, regardless of their challenges.
Led by Emily Newman and Jamie Sorn, 11 volunteers from FNBM, accompanied by several of their family members, enthusiastically joined the event. Their role as Buddies involved cheering on the players and offering encouragement throughout the games. The atmosphere was filled with excitement and camaraderie as everyone came together to support the young athletes.
The Challenger Little League is more than just a sports program; it is a testament to inclusivity and the power of community support. By providing a structured environment tailored to the needs of each participant, the league fosters an environment where every child can thrive and enjoy the thrill of competition.
Emily Newman, reflecting on the experience, shared, “It was truly inspiring to see the kids’ determination and joy as they played. Being able to be a part of their journey tonight was incredibly rewarding for all of us.”
Jamie Sorn added, “As volunteers, we are grateful for the opportunity to contribute to such a meaningful cause. The smiles on the players’ faces made it all worthwhile.”
The FNBM volunteers’ participation underscores the bank’s commitment to making a positive impact beyond financial services. By engaging in initiatives like the Challenger Little League, they demonstrate their dedication to fostering inclusivity and supporting the communities they serve.
In the world of Challenger Little League, every player is a champion, and every supporter is a hero.
