Making a Difference Together: Community Impact Day 2025

July 14, 2025

On May 14, First National Bank of Michigan proudly joined the Michigan West Coast Chamber of Commerce’s fourth annual Community Impact Day—an inspiring day of service that mobilized over 2,000 volunteers across the Holland area.

Our team has participated every year, and 2025 was no exception!

“Community Impact Day is all about what we can accomplish when we come together with purpose,” said Jodi Owczarski, President and CEO of the West Coast Chamber. “Every act of service creates a ripple effect, and together, we’re making tidal waves of impact — strengthening neighborhoods, supporting organizations, and driving real, lasting change.”

This year’s event was the largest, with more than 100 nonprofit organizations submitting volunteer projects—from beautifying public spaces to assisting with hands-on service initiatives. The collective effort from businesses, individuals, and teams like ours helped tackle local challenges while building stronger connections throughout the community. The Holland Aquatic Center with beautiful flowerpots to plant and mountains of mulch to spread was where FNBM worker bees Greg Accardo, Jesse Prins, and Kathy Jipping from the Holland office and Chris Williams, Rick Jackson, Deb Lang, Emily Newman, Jason Candelaria, and Shaunna Padgett from Grand Rapids and Kalamazoo volunteered.

At First National Bank of Michigan, giving back isn’t just something we do—it’s part of who we are. We’re proud to roll up our sleeves alongside our neighbors and contribute to the betterment of the communities we serve.
