Credit Analyst

Position Summary

Under limited supervision, the Credit Analyst will review and analyze financial statements and perform credit analysis for commercial lenders in a timely and accurate manner. They will assist the department in performing projects aimed at identifying and limiting credit risks within the commercial loan portfolio.

Essential Functions

  • Prepares loan applications for loan committee(s).
  • Reviews, spreads, and analyzes financial information for borrowers and prospects.
  • Monitors outstanding financial information and loan documentation.
  • Prepare reports as required.
  • Shows initiative and demonstrates a willingness to take ownership and drives improvements independently.
  • Demonstrated sensitivity to the Bank’s needs, customer and employee goodwill, and the public image.

  • Follows all Bank safety and security policies and procedures and works in a responsible manner so as not to create a hazard to oneself or others; maintains confidentiality at all times when dealing with customers’ financial records and personal information.

Non-Essential Functions

  • Maintains a neat, orderly, and organized work area at all times.
  • Performs other related duties, as assigned.
  • May be temporarily rotated to other positions within and outside of the department in order to meet organizational needs.

Education & Experience

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or relevant discipline with a minimum of 2 accounting courses is required. Relevant experience may also be considered.
  • Prior banking experience preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Frequently required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel or operate equipment, and reach with hands and arms.
  • Frequently required to talk and hear; frequently required to stand and walk.
  • Occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, twist, and crawl.
  • Occasionally required to lift, push, pull and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
