Served many charitable and civic organizations in Kalamazoo and Grand Rapids, including Bronson Health Foundation, Kalamazoo Deacons Conference, Southern Heights Church, Kalamazoo Christian Schools.
Presently serves on the board of trustees for Calvin University and Inner City Youth for Change.
